A community in Obafemi Owode Local government area of Ogun State, Alagada, has kicked against the installation of new villahe head in the town by the former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olisegun Osoba.
The town which was a few meter to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic town, Ojere was said to be a settlement of the Ijemos, a section of Egbaland.
Speaking to Our Correspondent, the Baale of Alagada, Chief Surajudeen Salisu said the town belongs to his fore fathers who are Ijemos, and there is no way Oba indigenes can lay claim to the town.
He revealed that former Governor Osoba who is the Oluwo of Oba had intended to install one Kola Odejobi as the new Baale of Alagada following the death of former Baale.
'The information came to us, and we had to protest against it bearing in mind that a Baale had already been installed in March this year.
"The move is to create division within us and to rewrite the history of Alagada town as no town can lay claim to the town except the Ijemos who has the right to install Baale.
Also speaking, the Otun Baale of Alagada, Chief Sulaiman Salisu said there is apprehension in the town already as the attempt to install another village head in Alagada will create disharmony among our people.
He said Chief Osoba remains a father figure, he should be a rallying point with the people, so he should not engage in acts that will bring to a disrespectful position.
At the news briefing were all Chiefs from the town which include the Osi of Alagada, Chief Jimoh Salisu, the Seriki, Chief Olufemi Kehinde, Otun Iyalode Chief Aliu Abeni and the Asiwaju, Chief Tajudeen Adegunwa.
