Ogun: Asipa Community Installs Ogunyinka Olugbemi As New Village Head

The installation of new village head for Asipa, a town in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State has taken place with pomp and peagentry 

The ceremony which took place at Asipa town near Akinjole was attended by sons and daughters of the town, with the Apena of Kemta performing the installation.

Also in attendance are the Representatives of Kemta Chiefs from Egba section, friends and well wishers.

The new Baale, Chief Ogunyinka Sunday Olugbemi who was appointed following the suspension of the former Baale by the Ewekoro local government and indigenes of Asipa, said his emergence as the Baale will bring more better fortunes for the town.

His words "I was the former 'Otun' of Asipa before I emerged as the new village head after the suspension of Chief Oladele Folarin.

His removal was based on the lackadaisical attitude to the development of the town. He was not forthcoming to anything that has to do with the development of Asipa and after series of warning, he was suspended.

"Oladele Folarin was not living in Asipa and you can't be Baale where you are not residing, efforts by the local government, the Olu of Itori and Olu of Obada to convince him to change his attitude was not forthcoming. He was then removed.

Speaking on his agenda for Asipa town, the new Baale, Chief Ogunyinka Olugbemi Sunday said his priority is to bring development to the sleepy town assuring that the challenges the community has been facing on the electricity will be tackled headlong.

"It has been long that Our transformer was blown off, we will ensure that we take necessary steps to ensure that it started working now.

The new Baale also sue for peace saying that as the new village head, he will continue to carry all residents of Asipa along in the scheme of things.

"Asipa town is known for peace, all steps will be taken to ensure that we sustain that peace, as you can see, everybody is happy today, so I will continue to ensure that we remain one united family.

He said as the Baale of Asipa, everybody will be carried along in the scheme of things
