Dear APC National Delegates,
I have chosen to write to you this late in the journey to elect the candidate to fly the flag of our party in the 2023 presidential election, hoping to catch you away from the noise and drama to which you have been exposed in the last few days.
I am sure you are aware that providence has placed in your hands a critical task: to determine the fate of our country and its prosperity.
To be sincere, this is such a heavy responsibility and I am not sure I'd want to be in your shoes.
With this responsibility in mind, I want to tell you about someone. Presently, Nigeria is faced with a myriad of challenges - dwindling revenues; a focus on crude oil that no longer serves the growing needs of our vast population; insecurity at never before seen levels; record unemployment - particularly youth unemployment, and a badly divided nation.
To resolve these challenges, we require an individual who possesses a proven ability of drawing water from a rock, a person with a proven track record of turning around difficult situations and repositioning whole societies towards peaceful and sustainable socio-economic growth and development.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu has an antecedent ( I must say with records!) of upscaling revenue generated in Lagos from N600million a month in 1999 to N51billion a month today.
Presently, our most pronounced challenge is insecurity. What Nigeria requires is a decisive leader who can take action when needed. When Tinubu was faced with the OPC epidemic in Lagos, he didn't sublet the problem to the federal government. He took action. He rounded up the local militia and packed them up.
Business only thrives where there is peace. Tinubu understands this, and that is why Lagos remains the most peaceful state today.
Another pandemic we face as a country is unemployment. Government does not have the capacity to provide jobs for everyone. Lagos agrees with this, and that is why it is the ideal space for the Nigerian dream. What Lagos creates is an enabling environment for small scale businesses to grow and dreams to be achieved. This was made possible by the blueprint and hard work of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Delegates, the future of every man, woman and child in Nigeria lies in your hands and will be directly impacted by the choice you make.
In the near future, your child will ask you what you did to make the future brighter, I asked my parents, and I am sure you will be proud to say you restored the glory of Nigeria by making Bola Ahmed Tinubu President.
