Ogun PDP Guber Crisis: Sowunmi Predicts Zamfara, Rivers Episode in 2023

By Our Correspondent

Following the issuance of certificate of return to the factional Gubernatorial Candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State for the 2023 Election, Chief Segun Sowunmi, candidate for the same position, said the Certificate issued to his rival,  Hon Ladi Adebutu, would at the end of the day become a worthless document.

Sowunmi, had emerged as the  candidate, from a parallel primary, conducted, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Iwe Iroyin, Abeokuta while Adebutu, emerged at the primary, held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), on the same day.

As the two were laying claim to  the Gubernatorial ticket of the party, the National Secretariat of the PDP, presented Certificate of Return to Adebutu, as the candidate of the party.

Not pleased with the development, Sowunmi, in a statement, he personally signed and made available to journalists in Abeokuta, described the certificate , as a worthless peace of card.

He said, "What came to my mind upon hearing that despite the cases before the court on the Ogun PDP governorship primaries, very typical of them, they have gone on to purportedly issue a worthless piece of card to one of the contenders.

"Please ask them what became of this type of lawless shenanigans they tried it in 2011, they failed, in 2015 they failed, and in 2019 they failed.

"It is too early to celebrate in 2023. Let us wait on the courts.

"Relax! Efa rabale! This is not a lawless society, APC danced in Zamfara, They ended up with no candidate in Rivers, how much more with a location where they are looking for 100% of Zero."
