The dust raised following the brutal assassination of Olu of Agodo Oba Ayinde Olajide Odetola continue to garner more reactions as Imo Council of Chiefs have queried the rationale behind their hurriedly published press statements hours after Oba Odetola was gruesomely murdered.
In a press statement jointly signed by all the Chiefs in the town, condemned the reactions of Olowu Council of Chiefs few days after the assassination of Oba Odetola.
It could be recalled that the Olowu Council of Chiefs had few days after the assassination of Olu of Agodo Oba Ayinde Olajide Odetola refered to the monarch as a land grabber.

Akogun Owu, who issued the statement on behalf of Olowu-in-Council, on 26th January, 2022 said that "on no occasion has the Agodo community, with a Baale in situ, has contested or applied to Olowu or Alake Egba for the uplifting of their Baale to Coronet.
,"From time immemorial, Agodo village which has been a multi-clan community from Abeokuta had been in peace until some six years ago when some hoodlums besieged the environment to grab the community's land.
"Report's available at our disposal in Owu Kingdom indicate the man who claimed to be Oba in Agodo village had been involved in land disputes with Agodo people which had caused bad blood among him, accompanied hoodlums and the Agodo community.
But Imo Chiefs while reacting said the press statements was borne out of malice and some hidden reasons best known to them
"Oba Odetola was appointed the Baale of Agodo in 2017 and got elevated and appointed as an Oba by Ogun state Government in 2019
"One wondered that no sooner that Oba Odetola was murdered, that the Olowu Council of Chiefs came out with a statement discrediting the slain monarch.
'Why showing solidarity with murderers, the council queried"
The Chiefs added that "the press statement was nothing but a distraction to prevent the security agencies to do thorough investigation into the murder case
"Its an incontrovertible fact that the Agodo town was established by an Imo man and will ever remain an Imo homestead.
"It is with a very sense of responsibility that we advise the Police to look beyond the assailants and also investigate their hidden sponsors, if any including the Owu chiefs"
"The gruesome assassination of Oba Odetola cannot and will never pave way for any owu man or any other settlers to become an Oba in a pure Egba settlement.
The council of chiefs also added that " the sudden discovery made by Owu chiefs immediately the monarch was slained that he was a land speculator and not an Oba as claimed raised suspicion about their culpability "
"While all well meaning people are condemning this gruesome murder and sent in their condolences, the Owu Chiefs chose to dance naked in the market with their unexpected press statement issue on their behalf by one Ishola Akinshipo who claimed to be Akogun Owu.
"The assassination was condemned by all including the state Government that even promised to do everything within their power to bring the culprits to book, no matter how highly placed.
The Chiefs concluded by pledging their support for the police to unravel mystery behind this murder.
