The late politician was a staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party in oyo State.
The widow of late politician narrated that the deceased ran from public and political space to Port-Hacourt in Rivers State after attempts had been made on his life thrice while he was still in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Deaths threat and assassination attempts, it would seem, has not abated among the PDP family in Oyo State, as this is the third member killed in the course of three years.
Some other members of PDP family have since fled the country for fear of safety.
Clear examples are: Mrs Liade Balogun, Jamiu Aliu, Olanbiwonninu Aeez, owolabi julius and many others who were founding member of the party in south west Nigeria. As at the time of going to press their whereabouts are still unknown.
Speaking with a party member in Oluyole LGA, the member (name withheld) described the political situation as tense, with insecurity also fueling the situation.
With the 2023 election in view, however, the party has called on all its members to play by rules.
Though the Governor is trying his best to secure the state – same with the party too, there is the need to be very careful at all levels.
