There was pandemonium in the early hours of Sunday, 5th of December, 2021 as a tanker lorry laden with premium motor spirit (pms) lost control along Mowe axis of the Lagos Ibadan expressway lost control and rammed into a Lagos bound passenger bus and killed all the 14 passengers including the driver of the bus. Eyewitness reports that the Tanker which belongs to one of the new generation oil and gas companies was driving towards Ibadan when he lost control at the traffic merger created by the giant road construction company; Julius Berger who are handling the ongoing road project which has been under construction for over a decade.
It was gathered that the Tanker driver was in top speed when he suddenly lost control of the truck and rammed into the passenger bus. Five of the occupants of the bus was said to have been burnt beyond recognition while the remaining nine were gruesomely murdered by the tanker.
Early visit to the scene of the accident by our correspondent confirmed the incident of the ill-fated passenger bus.
When contacted on the telephone, the Ogun State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission; Mr. Ahmed Umar confirmed the accident. He stated that the identities of some of the occupants of the bus have been known while the sector command is working assiduously to identify the bodies of the victims who were burnt beyond recognition.

He urged families of the unidentifiable bodies to come forward for DNA test in order to identify the bodies while he urges the families of the identified bodies to visit the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu to identify their loved ones and claim their bodies.
