Ogun: Obafemi Owode LG Boss celebrates 100 days in office with harvest of achievements

On Thursday, November 11, the Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina Ogunsola celebrated  100 days that his administration was inaugurated by the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.


In a Media parley held at the local government secretariat, Owode Egba, Ogun State, Ambassador Ogunsola said one thing that had remained constant in his administration was the desire to make a difference in the lives of the electorate who freely gave him their mandate. 



The chairman said “no doubt, the challenges at this level of government are enormous, considering the fact that it is the closest government to the grassroots.” 


He however, posited that he had remained courageous and resolute in his quest to ensure that the story changed for good.



The Chairman ascribed the successes recorded so far to the unity of purpose and total support shown by all concerned stakeholders. 


In his words, I was once the Secretary to the local government for about three administrations and my belief is “when you carry everybody along, and open up the democratic chance, you will give everybody the opportunity to contribute and they will be able to come to develop and contribute to the progress of the administration.”


Ambassador Ogunsola said since he assumed office he had been able to put smiles in the faces of the serving workers in the local government, as he had ensured that regular attention was given to their urgent needs thereby fostering good working relationship with the workers to achieve their quests


He added that his regime had installed maximum security guarantee in the local government by putting all the security agencies on the alert as the Chairman and Chief Security Officer of the local government, so that the good people of Obafemi Owode would always sleep with their eyes closed. 


In his statement, “We have shared ideas with the security agents to be proactive and, the issue of security has been taken seriously by me because safety for one is safety for all.”


The Executive Chairman reiterates that the youth are the bedrock of the society, even our future, and any community that does not do its best to develop the youth is a failed society that will remain under developed. 


He said he had been carrying the youths along in the task of running a better local government administration.


Ambassador Ogunsola further said he had succeeded in executing the following life touching projects since he assumed office.


(1) Proposed and unveiling of ultra modern trailer park, Degbe, Alapako
(2) Extensive Renovation and refurbishment of Chairman and Vice Chairman's
Office.

(8) Ongoing Construction of Ultra Modern Shopping Complex at Magboro

(4) Complete overhauling of Komatsu Engine and purchasing of Six new Tires
(5) Grading of road verges SIun-Owode Road.

(6) Extensive Rehabilitation and refurbishment of Obafemi/Owode
Legislative Chamber.
(7) Extensive Renovation and Refurbishment of Head of Local Government
Administration and Secretary to the Local Government's Office.

(8) Renovation of Ajura Health Centre
(9) Renovation of Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Blocks.
(10) Renovation of Information, Education and Sports Blocks.
(11) Ongoing Reconstruction and Modernization of Obafemi/Owode Viewing Centre.
(12) Renovation of Community and Social Development Blocks.

(13) Renovation of Agriculture and Natural Resources Blocks.
(14) Distribution of Writing Materials to Pupils in Methodist Primary School, Oyero Kajola.
(15) Distribution of writing materials to pupils in Anglican Church Primary School
Laloko/Ebenezer Anglican Primary School, Igbooya, Onidundu.

(16) Distribution of writing materials to pupils in Obafemi/Owode Local Governmen
Primary School, Imo-ljiwo, Mokoloki.

(17) Distribution of writing materials to students of Adesan Community High School, Mowe.

(18) Refurbishing of Local Government Rate Bus.
(19) Proposed Bodude Ultra Modern Market, ExpresS way, Mowe.

(20) Proposed 50 units low cost Housing Estate.
(21) Refurbishing of MIKANO 60KV Generating Set.
(22) Purchase of drugs for distribution to all Health facilities of the Local Government.
(23) Refurbishing of official vehicle attacrhed to Finance and Supplies Department.
(24) Renovation of Planning, Research and statisticS' Blocks.


To ensure probity, prudence and transparency in revenue generation, utilization and management, and to shore up internally generated revenues of the council, Amb Ogunsola Lanrewaju Adesina has met with the contractors on how to improve more in the revenue remitted to the local government.


The Chairman while concluding, thanked the good people of Obafemi Owode local government and implore them to continually support his administration so as to complete his plans for the local government.
