Old student donates ultra modern computer laboratory in support of his alma mater

As part of his promises and commitment to give back to the community that developed him, Damilola Oyeyemi Kehinde, a Cisco Certified trainer and engineer has donated an Ulta modern Computer laboratory to his Alma mater All Saints Anglican Primary School 1, located at Owode- Egba, Obafemi- Owode Local Government Area, where he was a pupil between 1987-1989 in memory of his late father, Chief Hezekiah Olusola Kehinde (JP), who during his lifetime was a Renowned educationist, Community Leader, Great Co-operator, Justice of Peace and Great family man who was also a former Vice Principal of Egba Owode Grammar School, Owode Egba.

Mr Tunji Akoni, an ICT Consultant, former Ogun State Schoolnet project coordinator and Commissioner 1 of Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) representing the Donor Damilola Kehinde emphasized that the Significance of the project is to enhance the capacity and empower the pupils who are the beneficiaries to be a Better person with a Competitive edge as he look forward to more of them in the future who will be like the Donor.


President of Rotary Club of Abeokuta, Rotarian Kayode Oladipo reiterated that Quality education is a Responsibility of all and  promised that his Club as a Stakeholder in the project would ensure Sustainability and constant monitoring of the project for better value driven metrics to the pupils.


Commissioning the Project on behalf of the Ogun State Chairman of SUBEB Chief Femi Majekodunmi the Secretary of SUBEB Mr Olalekan Kuye commended the initiatives and enjoined more well meaning old students to give back to their Alma mata.

On behalf of the Chairman of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, the Secretary, Hon. Hameed Osho commended Mr. Damilola Kehinde for his personal Commitment to a Social Responsibility aimed at exposing the pupils to Hands on learning and promised that the Local Government will assist in securing the Computer laboratory from possible theft.

Speaking with a sense of gratitude on behalf of the school to the Donor and invited Guests, the Headteacher, Mr Kayode Fatoki appreciated the Magnanimity and Generosity of Mr Damilola Kehinde and appealed to more old students to give back to their Alma mata.

There was Cultural dance performance by the pupils to the delight and  excitement of the guests.

Others dignitaries present at the event are the Representative of the Special Adviser on Education to the Governor Mrs Ronke Soyombo,Special Adviser President of Computer Teachers Association of Nigeria, (CTAN) Ogun State Mr Temitope Emosu, Deputy Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ogun State Mr Makati, Mr Arigbabu the Ogun Schoolnet, Coordinator, the Education Secretary Obafemi-Owode LGA, Mrs Martins and many other distinguished personalities.
