Aman, Dauda Labaran, has urged a Grade 1 Area Court sitting in Gwagwalada, Abuja, to compel his wife, Hauwa Haruna, who sought a divorce to return the N30, 000 brideprice he paid on her.

Labaran, who resides in Lafiyan Bassa in Gwagwalada, asked the court to recover handset, water drum, wrappers, umbrella and other expenses he claimed to have incurred on the relatives of his wife.

The wife, Hauwa Haruna, who resides at Dupka village in the area, said N20,000 was paid as dowry and not N30,000 as claimed by her estranged husband.

She urged the court to dissolve her four-year-old marriage for lack of love between them.

She told the court that since she got married to her husband in 2017, she has not been blessed with a child.

The presiding judge, Adamu Isa, after listening to both parties in the case dissolved the marriage upon refund of N20,000 brideprice to the respondent.
