Teenager commits suicide in Delta after quarrel with sister

A teenager, identified as Chiosiom Chidi, on Monday evening, allegedly committed suicide in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state after a disagreement with her elder sister, identified as Chikodi, penultimate Saturday.



It was gathered that the teenager was allegedly rebuked by her elder sister for keeping late hours and for damaging her (Chikodi) handset. 

But, after the said quarrel, Chiosiom was alleged to have drank a poisonous liquid suspected to be sniper as serious attempts were made to save her to no avail.

Police Commissioner in the state, Hafiz Inuwah, when contacted, said he was yet to receive a report on the incident, but assured that the matter would be investigated.

One of the victim’s relations, Frank Onuoha, said that the teenager died, while attempt to save her life were ongoing, disclosing that her remains has been laid to rest at the nearby Warri cemetery as the time of this report.

Chikodi, the elder sister to the deceased, who spoke to journalists, said: “We just had a minor quarrel and I warned her against keeping late nights, and others. 

“So, she started talking back at me and in a few hours, I was called that she had committed suicide.”
