Robbery gang leader meets waterloo in Delta

A 25-year-old suspected leader of a notorious three-man armed robbery gang terriorising the people of Issele Azagba Community near Asaba, the Delta state capital in the early hours of Friday, met his waterloo.


The gang leader was reportedly lynched by a mob after an attempt by his gang to disposses a man of his phone and cash failed.

The victim identified as Iweanya Felix, it was gathered, hails from Okpanam community where he and his gang members operate from before nemesis caught up with him.

While other gang members who took part in the robbery escaped by the whiskers, Felix was however, unlucky as he was caught and lynched.

A community leader who spoke to journalists on condition of anonymity, said that the gang had robbed a family around Ogbe- Akpu Quarters before they were caught, but said Felix could not escape, while others escaped.

Also speaking, the Chairman, Issele Azagba Vigilante Group, Mr. Dike Amaka stated that when he received information about the incident, he quickly mobilized his men to the crime scene.

He added however, that before his team could reach the scene, Felix had already being lynched by the mob.

Meanwhile, the body of the late armed robbery suspect had been deposited at the mortuary in Issele- Uku community by the police.
