Ihie community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo state has been thrown into confusion as a father of four was beaten to death by some cult groups in the area over his love affair with a married woman.
Timothy Osiah, died from the injuries he sustained as a result of the assault from the cultists.
The deceased (34), died on his way to hospital few days after the incident.
The deceased misfortune was said to have started when he was accused of having a secret love affair with a married lady in the same community.
It was learnt that the brother to the lady who was unhappy of the alleged relationship between his sister and the deceased, reported him to the cultists.
Thereafter, the cultists summoned the late Timothy, questioned him in respect of his love affair before he was assaulted by the cultists.
Timothy was said to have sustained injuries all over his body including his private part, forcing him to seek medical attention before he died.
Following his death, aggrieved youths of the community took to the streets to protest the killed of Timothy by the cultists and during the protest, set ablaze six houses belonging to suspected cult members.
Police Public Relation Officer of the Imo state Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu, when contacted said he would get back to the reporter as at the time of filing this report.
