Covid-19: RCCG, Treasure House of God, Cancel Church Services

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, and Treasure House of God, THG, have announced the cancellation of church services, beginning from this Sunday.

The announcement of the cancellation and alternative arrangements by the two Churches were announced by the two churches in a separate memo obtained by Our correspondent on Thursday.

The Redeemed Church in a memo passed to Pastors of the Church by the Assistant General Overseer in charge of Admin and Personnel, Pastor J.F. Odesola, in a memo obtained on Thursday spelt out alternative arrangements for its members.

The RCCG memo was dated March 18, 2020.
The programme scheduled for this Sunday is with the theme: “Emerge.”

The memo explained that any Parish that has less than 50 members could go ahead with the service in the auditorium, but anyone with more than 50 should split into home fellowships for the purpose.

It said any parish that has the facility to run more than one service can do so.

It also said officials of the church can be sent to such centres outside the church for statistics purposes.

It then advised members to hook onto Dove Television for live broadcasts from Pastor Adeboye.

The internal memo added: “Kindly be informed that this arrangement shall be in operation for the next few weeks, based on the position of the government.”

Also, In a release signed by the Setman, Treasure House of God, Abeokuta, Pastor Seye Senfuye said the Church resolve  to cooperate with global standard and in line with Ogun State government directive that social gathering and activities be reduced maximally in order to stem the tide of the COVID-19.

" Treasure House of God, Abeokuta hereby announces the cancellation of her 3-day prayer vigils scheduled to hold from Thursday March 19, till Sunday March 21, 2020, by 10.00pm daily.

" Furthermore, beginning from Sunday March 22, 2020, (until otherwise directed), Sunday Services will now hold between 9am to 11am at designated House Fellowship Centers, coordinated by  Jethro leaders for further directives and instructions".
