Community Cries Out Over Renewed Attack by Suspected Cultists

By Our Correspondent

The dust raised by the recent invasion of Fajol community,  Ogun State by people suspected to be ritualists is yet to settle as the whole community now live in perpetual fear.

Our Correspondent gathered that penultimate about two weeks ago, some hoodlums suspected to be cultists visited some houses in the area where they were said to be in the look out for one Julius Enitan, a Technician and heir apparent to a throne in Yewa area of the State.

Last year, precisely, July, some leaders in Yewa area of Ogun State had visited the community in search of the Survey Technician, who they wanted, to ascend a stool in his hometown, by force.

Several frantic but fruitless attempts were made by the Yewa Leaders to ensure that the Survey Technician danced to their tunes because of the advantages they believed would accrue to their town, should he accept the offer.

It was learnt that Mr. Enitan was threatened if he refused to become their royal father as they vowed to kidnap him and other members of his family if he remained adamant to their request.

Our Correspondent gathered that the threat reached a crescendo late last year forcing the Survey Technician to leave his residence together with his family to an undisclosed place, as the cultists, on daily basis, visited his abode, thereby throwing the whole community into panic.

A source who resides in the Community revealed that several efforts had been made to send these hoodlums away, but they keep coming with the hope that one day, they will catch up with their prey.

Speaking with newsmen, a leader in the Community, Mr Tokunbo Ijaduola, confirmed that their community had been thrown into disarray by the unwholesome activities of the said invaders into their area noting that the presence of these people had continued to make residents live in fear.

“Residents of this area have been living with one of their eyes closed since late last year when some unknown faces surfaced in the community telling us that they were around to search for Mr. Enitan who they said turned deaf ears to their elders’ pleas that he should come and occupy the throne of his ancestors” the leader noted with worries.

He appealed to security agents to come to their aid to ensure that no resident of the area is either maimed or killed by the intruding cultists as he lamented that despite the fact that the excesses of the people had been reported to the police without any positive action taken.

“Our people are not happy with the onslaught of these invaders who have continued to make life difficult for them”, he concluded.
