APC NEC Meeting Suspended Indefinitely

President Muhammadu Buhari and the Governors of the All Progressives Congress have postponed the meeting of the All Progressives Congress earlier scheduled for Tuesday, indefinitely.


They took the decision at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after a brief meeting.

This was disclosed by the Chairman, Progressives Governors Forum, Mr Abubakar Atiku-Bagudu. Atiku-Bagudu said the governors urged the president to support the postponement until crisis within the party was resolved.

The governors who attended the meeting were those from Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Kwara, Kano, Nasarawa, Edo, Kebbi, Jigawa, Gombe, Borno, Niger, Plateau, Lagos, Katsina, and Imo States, while the governors of Kaduna, Ekiti, Yobe, and Kogi States, were absent.

The APC has been polarised  between those who want the embattled National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole out and those who think he should remain.

Governors who have pitched their tent against  Oshiomhole  are Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Simon Lalong of Plateau, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi and Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa

Those who have shown support for the APC chairman are Babajide Sanwo-Olu( Lagos), Dapo Abiodun( Ogun), Gboyega Oyetola( Osun), Aminu Bello Masari( Katsina), Abdulahi Ganduje( Kano), Babagana Umar Zulum( Borno), Mai Mala Buni( Yobe) and Yahaha Bello( Kogi) and Hope Uzodinma
