Hon Damilola Soneye , (APC - Obafemi Owode), member, Ogun House of Assembly has appealed to Gov. Dapo Abiodun to urgently rehabilitate all bad roads in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state.
Soneye made the appeal while speaking with Journalists in in Abeokuta on Wednesday.
The lawmaker explained that the state of the roads in his constituency had negative effect on the economic activities of the local government area.
He opined that various economic activities were being wasted on some of these roads by motorists due to the bad state of the roads , saying that something urgent needed to be done before the raining season.
He noted that Adesan road in Mowe required immediate government intervention because of the economic activities being witnessed on the road.
"I want to tell Gov. Dapo Abiodun that roads in Obafemi Owode local government needs urgent attention, I want to beg the governor to come to our rescue before the rain begins.
" My people wants me to appeal to the governor to fix our roads as soon as possible. Some of these roads are Mowe -Pakuro -Orimerunmu -Sote road, Ibafo -Magboro road and OPIC road," he said.
The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Lands and Housing, also called for the completion of Ofada road which was started by previous administration.
He noted that despite paucity of fund , the state government had done a lot especially on infrastructure since the inception of the present administration to circulate dividends of democracy across the state.
Soneye reiterated his commitment to serving the people, assuring his constituent that he would continue to be a good representative.
" I will continue to ensure effective representation at the assembly. Part of my effort as the chairman, lands and housing in the house is to ensure that state government create a task force to enforce the anti land grabbing law of the state.
"This is due to the recent excesses of land grabbers in most part of the state, " he said
