Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Afolabi Afuape, made this known at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, while inaugurating members of the Review and Amendment Committee for the ‘Guidelines on Administrative Procedure for Local Governments in Ogun State.
Afuape noted that the step would also enable Local Government Authorities key into the driving force of the Governor Abiodun-led administration to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots, saying, he had confidence in the ability of the Committee members which comprised officials from relevant agencies to the LGAs, as well as the Ministry of Justice, to produce useful reports.
“I do not doubt your ability in turning in a presentable result within the shortest time frame. I want you to do a thorough job that you all will be proud of”, he said.
In his remarks the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Kunle Osota, who is also the Chairman of the Committee said, review of the guidelines was necessary in order for Local Government functionaries conduct themselves accordingly.
Some members of the review Committee from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs include; Mrs. Olusola Osasona, Mr. Solomon Adewunmi and Mr. Wemimo Osidipe, as Secretary, while Mr. Olalekan Oderinde is from Local Government Service Commission.
Others were; Mrs. Aanu Fatade, Bureau of Local Government Pensions, Mr. Taofeek Adebayo, Office of the Auditor General for Local Government and Mrs. Tosin Ogundele, Ministry of Justice.
