House To House Refuse Collection Starts In Ogun, 5 Dumpsites Rehabilitated

The Ogun state government has commenced house-to-house refuse collection of waste.



 Commissioner of Environment, Hon Abiodun Abudu-Balogun stated this while addressing waste managers at the conference room of the ministry in Abeokuta.

   
He said the present administration met a very dirty Environment especially in it's major cities,so the government had to establish the waste management Authority to not only clean the state but bring permanent solution to waste management.

   
Hon Abudu-Balogun said the government had commenced the household refuse intervention programme which collects waste from house to house,while five dumpsites have been rehabilitated to make them accessible for waste managers.

He therefore called on the waste managers to comply with the state government new directives that only operators with compactor are allowed to load waste adding that the state owned Mortgage Bank is ready to partner them in acquiring new ones.
