A PROFESSOR allegedly tied her husband to a chair with zip ties and gagged him for SEVEN hours until he died, court documents show.

Dr Gowun Park, 41, is accused of binding Sung Woo Nam's feet and hands and forcing "items of clothing" into his mouth.

Park is accused of murdering her 41-year-old husband Sung Woo Nam.

She was charged and arrested on murder and kidnapping chargesThe Assistant Economics Professor restrained Nam between 10.30am and 11am, according to a criminal complaint.

She then fastened a towel over his head with duct tape, state court records obtained by the campus newspaper, The Simpsonian .

“Nam was confined to a room and bound to a chair, unable to freely move about and free himself, ultimately leading to his death," the documents said.

“Ms. Park’s actions and in-actions were directly responsible for Mr. Nam’s death. The injuries sustained by Mr. Nam were not self-inflicted.

"Ms. Park stated that the only people present during the duration of the events were her and her husband, Sung Woo Nam."

UNRESPONSIVE

The complaint details how Nam begged to be released around 5pm but Park allegedly refused to untie him - she then attempted to cover up the killing.

She reportedly waited nearly two hours before calling the police at 6.45 pm.

Responding officers found Park performing CPR on her blue-lipped, unresponsive husband shortly after 7pm.

"Ms. Park made efforts to hide and conceal the binding items prior to the arrival of emergency personnel," the complaint states.

Nan had ligature marks on his neck and throat.

He was pronounced dead after being rushed to hospital.

Simpson College's statement read: "The investigation is ongoing, and police have informed us there is no threat or any link to the campus community.
"The college has suspended Dr. Park and will cooperate with authorities in their investigation."

Junior Thomas Mussig told the Des Moines Register Park was his academic adviser, describing her as the "sweetest" person.
But he claims Park told him she was single and that her family was living in South Korea.

He revealed: “I had her in class for three years; she was saying that for three years."

Park graduated from NYU with a Master's degree in economics in 2010 before obtaining her PhD from the City University of New York Graduate Center.

Cops booked her on Wednesday for first degree murder and kidnapping in the first degree.
