The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Sen. Tolu Odebiyi has congratulated Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, over his victory at the Court of Appeal Ibadan Division on Monday.
He said the verdict is a cheering news which would further unify the All Progressives Congress (APC) behind the Governor and his government.
Senator Odebiyi was particularly glad that the victory coincided with the celebration of the Eid Malud, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed.
The Court of Appeal in Ibadan had dismissed the appeal filed by Abdulkabir Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) against the victory of Governor Abiodun of the APC.
The Appeal Court, agreed with the Tribunal that the petition of the candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, Abdulkabir Akinlade, lacked merit
While congratulating the Governor, Senator Odebiyi noted that Ogun state stands to benefit immensely if all are united behind the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun, as it would help in accelerating the development of the state.
He urged the APM to resist any temptation of proceeding to the Supreme Court but team up with Governor Abiodun in developing the Gateway state.
According to him, 'I very much believe that we shall be better if we stand and work together for our state and our people'.
"With this sweet victory, what should be uppermost is our continued march to progress which our forward-looking Governor has started and we need everyone to be on the same progressive train"
"I therefore appeal to the leaders and members of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to join hands with the Governor to move the state forward", Senator Odebiyi said.
