Aisha Buhari was reported to have gone to the United Kindom for medical treatment and was yesterday reported to have been locked up in the Villa.
According to her tweet she said: ‘Wife of the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mrs Modupe Oguntade seeing me off. Thank you so much madam’
Aisha departed Nigeria in August to join Muslims in Saudi Arabia to perform hajj, from where she travelled to the UK for medicals.
THE WEDDING THAT NEVER HAPPENED
While the president’s wife was away, the rumour mill was at work with stories that Buhari was about to marry a second wife.
The rumour was that the president was set to marry Sadiya Umar Farouq, minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development.
It was being speculated that the purported wedding — which never happened — was among the reasons she has been away.
In fact, it had been reported that she returned to the presidential villa on Friday but was locked out of the villa — a claim that was untrue.
