Education in Ogun State to return to it’s pride of place in Nigeria

Education being the pivot on which development rest, therefore needs to retain it’s pride of place in the scheme of things to enable all round growth.

This summation was given by the chairman House Committee on Education Science and Technology, Hon. Ademuyiwa Adeyemi during a visit to the Ministry of Education Science and Technology for 2019 half year budget appraisal. 

Hon.  Adeyemi who led other committee members to the Ministry said he was particularly impressed with the achievement of the agency for the period under review especially with it being a social service sector.

He admonished the management to continue working hand in hand with the government of the day in ensuring that it is returned so it’s pride of place in the country.

Earlier in his address the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Mr Olu. Ola Aikulola while listing the achievements of the ministry, informed that it had successfully exceeded it’s expected internally generated revenue as at the end of June, 2019.

Aikulola added that the ministry was bent on providing qualitative and affordable education throughout all levels, this is said was evident with the establishment of zonal education offices all over the State aimed at ensuring education process is adequately monitored for constant improvement.

The education helms man appreciated Gov. Dapo Abiodun for his unwavering attention to the sector noting that this was evident in the recent giant strides being taken by the government to resuscitate and revamp it to where it should be.

He pleaded with the house committee to also assist in passing resolutions in the state House of Assembly for the benefit of education in the state 

The budget appraisal by the House Committee on Education Science and Technology is in fulfillment of part the oversight duty of the members of the committee.
