A boot camp aimed at motivating the minds of young ones to stay away from criminal activities, negative character, anti - social behaviours among others has been flagged off in Abeokuta, Ogun State by "I Believe in Africa Initiative", in view of a project called "I Believe in Prison Reform".
The camp tagged "from Boys to Men" is geared towards making the youths channel their energy into productive and positive values that will enable them earn a legal and legitimate means of sustainable living after release, thereby positively giving back to the society.
The initiator of the camp and a Global Prison Ambassador Yinka Lawanson popularly known as Lamboginny, in collaboration with Amakisskiss foundation organized the event to bring the attention of the general public towards the facility thereby focusing on areas that needs support and assistance to enhance and improve effective corrections of these young minds for a brighter future thereby making our society better, serene, save and conducive for growth and development.
The invited guest speakers and facilitators took the young minds on a tour of their life experiences, challenges, problems encountered along their path to success.
The invited personalities includes, Mr Bayo Adeyinka - motivational speaker and Banker - south - west regional manager of Fidelity Bank, Miss Cynthia Mosunmols Umoru - special adviser to the ministry of Agriculture on youth and gender, Mr Okeleji Steve of Aquatic hub, Mr Olamide Akintaro - Agriculturist, Mr Olamide Olaitan - Mtech Communications, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala, Miss Tosin Lawani - fashion celebrity, Kemen - fitness instructor / Big Brother Housemate, Chidinma, Small doctor, Korede Bello amongst many others.
The organizer of the boot camp “Lamboginny” is a friend of the institution and has partnered with Nigeria Prisons Service in various capacities, the last been the Musical Concert organized at Medium Security Prisons, Kirikiri, Lagos State.
