The immediate Past President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Ogun State Chapter, Prince Adesanya Oduala has denied the allegation of financial impropriety during his tenure, calling on the publisher of the story to substantiate his claims.
Prince Oduala has also vowed to institute a legal action against those peddling the rumour, saying he would not take it kindly with anyone or group who wants to tarnish his image or rubbish his giant strides and achievements while at the helm of affairs of Ogun State NAPPS.
He stated further that he ran an inclusive administration, whereby the executives and members were carried along. He said he was not directly in charge of disbursement of fund as there were elected officers in charge of that.
The ex NAPPS President claimed that the association does not have in its coffers, the huge amount of 35 million naira claimed to have been siphoned by the writer or sponsor of the story; either from the Unified Examination fees or payment of dues by members, saying the group still has outstanding payments to reimburse the Jiboku family for the construction of NAPPS Secretariat by the late former President, Chief Abayomi Jiboku.
He clarified that his administration took the payment of salary of staff at the NAPPS Secretariat and their welfare seriously and no one was being owed.
“The records are there for everyone to see. No one is holding on to power. The handing over would be done as soon as proper documentation are perfected between the outgoing and incoming administration”, Oduala said.
On the alleged theft of association’s bus, Oduala said “how could the bus be taken away from the secretariat when no one was given an extra key. The matter was reported at the Obantoko Police Station and those involved were invited for questioning.
Prince Oduala alleged that the bus keys have been compromised.
When contacted, the new president of the association, Dr. Lawrence Holumidey said he was not aware of situation, claiming he is in full control of the leadership of association.
Prince Oduala however maintained that he is a man of integrity and would do anything under the law to protect the reputation he has built over the years.
