In furtherance of her desire to ameliorate the plight of the downtrodden masses and physically challenged in Oyo State ,,Mrs. Florence Ajimobi on Thursday in Ibadan empowered over 1000 women.
Wife of Oyo state Governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi during an empowerment programme in Ibadan where She donated generators, grinding machines, driers , gas cookers and N20,000 cash to women from 351 wards in the State.With her are the State Governor and some of the beneficiaries.
In what was described as "Grassroots Women Empowerment Programme",items given to the women and the physically challenged people included grinding machines ,generators , driers for hair dressers,gas cylinders and N20-000 cash each.
The beneficiaries were advised not to sell the machines but instead. , use them to better their lots at this austere time.
Mrs.Ajimobi dispelled the insinuation in some quarters that the gifts were to induce the beneficiaries to vote for All Progressives Congress on Saturday.
She disclosed that She has always been touched by the plight of the poor in the state adding that She is always grateful to God that anytime She approached her husband to promote her philanthropy,he has never turned her down
The First Lady urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the kind gesture adding that one good turn desrves another.
She appealed to the beneficiaries to vote en masse for APC in all the elections stressing that the new APC Governor coming in would sustain the empowerment programme.
Mrs Ajimobi advised the APC supporters to resist the temptation of engaging in violence during the elections adding that the oppositions have done so many things to blackmail the present government in order to incite the public against it.
