Thousands of electorates from Ogun Central and West troop out en masse on Thursday to welcome the campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate in SatNigerresidential elections, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.
The campaign train was led by the Deputy Chairman of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organization (South), Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
Addressing a large crowd in Obantoko area of Odeda local government area of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel urged the people to vote Atiku and other PDP candidates in the Saturday elections.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel, urged the people to vote right on Saturday in order to save the country of what he described as “another four years of disaster,” .
He lamented that the country has witnessed severe hardship under the All Progressives Congress, APC, led government, urging electorates to vote for Atiku Abubakar during Saturday’s election,
He said Atiku is the candidate to vote because, “It is a choice between a detribalized Nigerian who doesn’t see ethnic, religion or regional difference but Nigerian.”
Speaking to Journalists on the failure of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, to have a major campaign in Ogun State, Otumba Gbenga Daniel said it was strategic.
Daniel said that it was deliberate and strategic so as not to aggravate crisis between the two factions of the party in the state.
The PDP in the state is divided into two factions with Senator Buruji Kashamu and a member of House of Representatives from Remo- North, Oladipupo Adebutu leading the factions.
Daniel said, “He (Atiku) has been to Ogun State, a number of times. It is a thing of strategy because sometimes, a big rally is a form of collecting the converted and you know our Ogun state is a very sophisticated environment.
“So, I think we have done what we are supposed to do and that is most important and as you can see, everything is rooting for Atiku and that is the most important”.
