Masari was speaking during an extraordinary security meeting held at the Presidential banquet hall, Government House, Katsina.

He told participants at the meeting drawn from the eight frontline local governments with neighbouring Zamfara state that kidnappings, armed robbery and banditry are now the order of the day in the state.

“Daily security reports reaching me had indicated that no day pass without a reported cases of kidnappings, armed robbery, cattle rustling other heinous crimes,” Masari said.

He cited examples of government property being carted away very close to the Government House where there was very heavy presence of security men.

Governor Masari said the meeting was therefore called to find ways and means of curtailing criminal incidences in state.

However, the meeting later went into close-door session.
