The Ondo State Police Command, on Thursday, arrested a man identified as Tunde Ogunlade for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl (named withheld) at the Oke Aro area of Akure, the state capital.
The victim is said to be suffering from autism, with the suspect alleged to have taken advantage of her health condition.
Parading the suspect at the headquarters of the command in Alagbaka, Akure, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Femi Joseph, said the suspect had carnal knowledge of the victim to the extent that blood was gushing out of her private parts.
He said, “The suspect went to do a carpentry work in a house where he saw the girl. He gave her N50 after which he raped the young girl. This is a shame because he has a wife at home and three kids.
“He will be taken to court on Friday (today); when he gets there, he will tell the court why he committed the offence.”
However, the 50-year-old suspect denied raping the girl, adding that he only dipped his finger into her private parts while playing with her.
“I was doing my carpentry work when I saw her; she held my hand and I also held her hand; so, I was playing with her. I just dipped my finger into her private parts but I didn’t rape her; when blood came out of her private parts, I took her to the bathroom to wash the blood away,” Ogunlade stated.
But the father of three said he liked the girl and could marry her if her parents would permit the union.
