The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) seems to be far from over as notable governors of the Party, Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, and Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun Stste, who played major roles during election which saw the party flag bearer, Gboyega Oyetola elected as Osun State governor, were conspicuously absent at today's swearing-in ceremony of the governor.
The two governors' absent at the inauguration of Gboyega Oyetola as the Governor of Osun State further confirmed the crisis within the APC, rather than being resolved is getting worse, an indication it may affect chances of re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari for second term.
As at the time of reporting it was not clear whether the two governors sill remain bona fide members of APC as some of their loyalists are believed to have been flying campaign flags through some other political parties for various posts the APC denied them.
Okorocha and Amosun have been publicly criticising the leadership of the APC following the refusal of the party to submit names of their preferred governorship candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as the flag bearers of their respective states.
There had been a war of words between the two governors and the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The inauguration ceremony was however well attended by bigwigs of the APC including: President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented by the Secretary-General of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; national leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Rotimi Akeredulu of Ondo State; the Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi; Yahaya Belo of Kogi State (represented); Governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode; Ekiti State Governor, John Fayemi; among others.
