Gbenga Sodeinde, Ado Ekiti
Hon. Sola Fatoba, APC candidate for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I in the next year’s general elections, has expressed shock at the death of a member of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Michael Adedeji, who was shot last Friday by unknown assailants.
The deceased who represented Ekiti South West II in the Assembly was reportedly shot in the head by gunmen in Ado Ekiti but succumbed to the cold hands of death yesterday after all efforts to save him proved futile.
Hon. Fatoba who commiserated with the family of the deceased prayed that God will give them the fortitude to bear the loss and appealed to law enforcement agency to do all it can to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
The candidate also commended Governor Kayode Fayemi for appointing round pegs in round holes, saying he is happy with the way the governor is applying wisdom in his appointments.
Governor Fayemi had performed the swearing-in of the new Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji and his Chief of Staff, Biodun Omoleye, Mr. Wale Fapounda, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice and Dapo Kolawole, Commissioner for Finance
Fatoba who hailed the appointments in a statement, described them as a befitting reward for hard work and loyalty.
According to him the new officers of the new government in the state are men of proven integrity who are capable of acquitting themselves creditably in their various offices
Fatoba then advised the appointees to prove their mettle in the tasks set before them so as to justify the confidence reposed in them by the governor.
