The Oyo State government on thursday sent themanagement of the Oke Ogun Polytechnic Saki where lecturers have been on prolonged strike over the non payment of their 23 months salaries on compulsory
Recently,the Academic Staff Union of the school was nullified,a decision condemned by members of the public who regarded it as arbitrary and a violation of human right.

In a four-paragraph statement issued and signed by the Governing Council Chairman, Professor Moshood Tijani, after rising from an emergency meeting, the Council enjoined all staff and student to resume back to the school on Monday, 17th September.
The statement reads in part, “In view of the inability of the management of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki to effect smooth running of the Institution in the last couple of months with the attendant continued strike of the Academic Staff of the Institution which had crippled the academic activities:
“The Governing Council hereby, at its meeting today, Thursday 13th of August, 2018 decides that the entire management should go on their accumulated 4-year annual leave with immediate effect.
“An Acting Management had been put in place to run the affairs of the institution within the intervening period.
“All lecturers are hereby enjoined to go back to work on Monday 17th September 2018, while the students should go back to their classrooms on the same day.
“The Governing Council is using this medium to assure all members of staff and students that their interests are of the utmost importance.”
Meanwhile,students of the Polytechnic have appealed to the state government to settle the accumulated salaries of their lecturers otherwise the call for their resumption would not work.
A female student of the Polytechnic who wanted to keep her identity said that the steps being taken by government cannot solve the problems brought about by non payment of staff salaries.
