Dispels allegation Of Inducement

The Accord Party (AP) in Ekiti State has disclosed that the party had discussion with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to work together to elect a credible candidate that would implement its manifesto.
It described an allegation that the executive of the party accepted N150 million gratification from Gov. Ayodele Fayose and PDP ahead of the gubernatorial in the state as untrue.
The party in a statement jointly signed by its Publicity Secretary, Deacon Lanre and the Secretary, Hon. Philip Adeniji and available to news men in Ibadan, described the allegation as baseless and unfounded.
The statement was in reaction to an allegation that the party under the leadership of Akogun Banji Ojo and Chief Samuel Odeoba accepted the sum of N150 million from Fayose and PDP to join forces with PDP against Accord Party.
It also described another circulation claiming that the state executive committee of Accord Party in Ekiti State has been suspended by the national executive of the party as untrue.
The party stated that no member in the state discussed or accepted any form of gratification or money from either of Fayose or PDP, calling on those alleging to provide evidence of where such money was paid or collected.
It stated that the party's discussion with PDP was to work together to elect a credible candidate that would implement their manifesto, adding that their candidate is handicapped to carry out the assignment.
"Our party has not merged with PDP in any form but has a working arrangement with PDP for all their members to vote for the PDP's candidate in the next election," the statement read.
The party stated that the acclaimed suspension of the state executive and emergence of new caretaker committee was fake and untrue, saying the national executive of the party has dissociated itself from the suspension.
It stated that the Odeoba led executive in Ekiti remained intact, stable and peaceful, urging members in the state to remain calm.
They warned the public not to engage in any relationship with Mr. Abiodun Aluko and the acclaimed caretaker committee, saying such transaction was at their risk.
"The paraded members of the Caretaker Committee are not card carrying members of Accord Party in the state," it said.
