The Conference of Nigeria Political Party CNPP, Ekiti state chapter, has warned Civil Servants in the state not to be part of alleged altering of official documents in a desperate attempt by Governor Ayo Fayose to cover up some of the shoddy deals embarked upon by his administration.
The latest warning became imperative in order to safe the innocent workers from falling into the trick and deceit of the outgoing governor to soil their hands unknowingly in the alleged brazen looting since the inception of the present administration in Ekiti state.
The caution was contained in a release signed by the state publicity Secretary of CNPP in Ekiti state, Deacon Olu Akomolafe and made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti over the weekend.
It is now in public domain, the on-going alteration of government official documents by the government of Fayose after his party lost the July 14, 2018 governorship election in Ekiti state. All the desperate moves being evolved by the out-going governor and his few Cohorts are not hidden at all.
This is the reason why, Civil Servants in the state must be wary of their latest relationship with the present administration tactics to further dubiously involve them in some of the ignoble dealings and looting that have characterised the daily activities of the government.
The searching lights of the various interest groups including, CNPP have been keenly monitoring every activity of the government especially since the conclusion of the governorship election in the state and it is absorb and appalling the level of sharp practices going-on in the state now.
"Official documents from various ministries, agencies and parastatals are being inter-changed to make governance become cumbersome, equivocal and inexplicable to the incoming administration, hence hoarding or non- availability of necessary official documents needed to know how government activities were carried out in the four years of the present government in the state".
"Some sensitive materials especially from the ministries of works, health, Agriculture ,commerce and industry among others are being replaced with new ones in order to fraudulently perfect shoddy government transactions embarked upon in the past and the latest activities are being achieved through the efforts of some dubious civil Servants in the state.
"And if the latest practice continues unabated, the process of governance in the state may become too complicated for the in-coming administration to get it right at the inception. The development which may slow down the pace at ensuring good governance in the state.
"There is no doubt that, the main reason why the people of the state came out enmass to vote for APC and its Candidate Dr. Kayode Fayemi during the last governorship election in the state was to have a good governance that will be a clear departure from the current one in the state.
Therefore, it will be a great injustice for the workers who have been subjected to hungry, penury and trauma by Fayose's administration through non- payment of their salaries and allowances up to 6-9 months till date to encourage the same latter to, through a back door altering or tampering with some official documents in the state to prevent Fayose from facing the consequences of his heinous actions.
The burden of the latest actions and inactions of the workers and the governor will no doubt become the pains of the masses in the state, hence the need for the civil servants to take caution in the interest of all and sundry for a meaningful development to take place soon".
"Civil servants as a major force to be reckoned with at ensuring a good governance in the country need to always be up and doing at discharging their duties in order to checkmate the excesses of the politicians to sanitise the system of governance in Nigeria". CNPP said
