Nigeria Can Still Get Credible Leaders

A House of Representatives hopeful under the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Hon Samuel Abiodun Oni has said that the country still have selfless and patriotic leaders in spite of leadership challenges facing the Country.

Hon Samuel Oni

Hon Oni who said this while speaking to some selected Journalists in Abeokuta opined that the electorates have been the major reasons while bad leaders emerge victorious l at any elections.
He said that good leaders with intentions to serve it's people meritoriously are often disallowed by some godfathers to emerge as they believed that such aspirants may not serve their interest if he eventually get to office.
His words, " it is possible to have a God fearing leaders because I could remember one Eng Biyi Jooda the‎ former Commissioner of Education in Ogun state in 1992, he was unable to build a single house for himself while in office, not until a friend assisted him'.
"The issue of‎ campaign this time is like inviting thieves to come and steal from us"
Hon Oni who intends to contest for House of Representatives under the umbrella of ADC in Obafemi Owode/ Abeokuta North and Odeda federal constituency said "There is difference between issue of money and love. When someone have the aspiration to run for a post, he won’t look at the issue of money alone, but the acceptance and love from his people will also count. Money is not everything, but commitment also counts".
"How can we invite someone who is not staying among us, someone who stays in London to come and lead us? My mother is from Odeda Local Government, my father is from Obafemi Owode, my office is at Abeokuta North since 1988. What I am trying to tell you is that, I am fully on ground in the three local governments, I know virtually all the places in the constituency very well. Why some try to use money is because most of the contestants don’t even know their ward, and they try to buy themselves in. You don’t need to look around for money if you truly want to serve, but to dedicate yourself for service".
"I can tell you authoritatively that when the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun came in, quote me anywhere, he didn’t have anything because I rememberd one of the busses he used for campaign, I was the one who repaired them at my cost, but people voted for him with love."‎
When we are talking about politicians in Nigeria, you go and check the end of some politicians who are deceiving their people, there are 744 local governments in Nigeria, hardly will you see Ten former Chairmen that will survive it after leaving the office, because they were not transparent. The  set of people ruling Nigeria now are like cult group because when we looked at what is happening in Nigeria now, normal thinking people will know that there are lots of problems.‎
The House of Representatives hopeful said his joining the ADC is by divine directive as " when I asked God where I should go, God told me to wait, so when ADC came, I Joined them.
